Wenzel Wild + Free Furmint 2015
The Wild + Free series is already a special feature of Michael Wenzel by covering it with an orange wax capsule. It is his experimental freedom. Here he explores the topic of Orange Wine. This is the second version of the Garden of Eden, fermented only on the berries, so created like a red wine. Please be sure to shake the yeast before opening! Cloudy amber gold, some fresh hops in the bouquet, then also wheat, yellow apple, peach and resin. Peach again on the palate, somewhat calming, delicate phenolic structure. Everything appears finely balanced and harmonious. You can tell how much passion Wenzel puts into the Furmint grape variety, because this is clearly his best orange wine. He always remains silent, drawing attention to himself. You have to watch the wine over a few hours and like to go to higher temperatures than usual for white wine. But it remains pure freak fabric and only something for advanced tasters!
