Vosne Romanee Les Quartiers de Nuits 2017
A small single plot of 0.3 hectares located right next to the Grand Cru Echezeaux. Planted in 1927, so ancient vines. Of course, this wine is also not destemmed, whole grape fermentation. There are only 1000 bottles of this elixir. This wine is fermented in a large 600 liter barrel and then expanded in it. After fermentation, the material stays on the entire grapes and skins for another 4 weeks. The wine has so much concentration and strength and great red fruity acidity that neither the wood nor the spicy rapiness dominate. Here comes the red sour cherry, red currant, a hint of light blackberry. Then a touch of black cherry, but the red fruit dominates almost completely. Also fresh plums, lots of flu. In the two-minute reverberation, both the terroir over the limestone, salty notes and the black horse are noticeable with a nice spiciness. What is missing in the beginning is the fruity sweetness. It takes a lot of time on the bottle. Great potential, great wine. A small Grand Cru with a lot of future.
