Umathum Ried Hallebühl Zweigelt Frauenkirchner 2013
100% from Zweigelt. Completely grown on pebble floors, on a hill with a relatively high iron content. Cold maceration for up to five weeks. 40% whole grape fermentation, temperature up to 31 °. Fermented spontaneously in a large wooden barrel. Then pressed with a gentle pressure of only 1.5 bar. 70% aged in new wood. The rest in used barriques, left on the yeast. 18 months in wood and then a year in bottle before the wine goes on sale. Really lush, highly aromatic, open, blueberry, black cherry, heart cherry, black currant, lush, full and yet charming. Ripe wild berries, wild strawberry and wild raspberry. Fine light earth, fresh plums, very fine herbal notes next to it. Very fine and at the same time fruit-intensive mouth. Cherry dominates everything: heart cherry, black cherry, fine red, sweet cherry, cherry stones. Only then come currant, marzipan, a good kick of acidity, then salt, stone flour, immense length, vibrating, great rolling up again and again. Light chocolates, praline, currant and fine red cherry dance around each other. Great Zweigelt in its delicacy and breed.
