Schätzel Pettenthal Riesling 2016
Expressive spontaneous nose, still reductive, smoke and wet stone, citrus, looks very powerful overall. Then clear on the palate, minty-cool with deep herbal flavor. Hardly any fruit - a rocky-mineral extremist, but so exciting right into the long, very salty finish. It was only when I tried Kellers Pettenthal that I landed at 97-100, before that I was flattened to 100 ... but that was even increased at Keller .... unfortunately also much more expensive ... 2 times the best of what Rhine front at all.
