Bewitching deep ruby red wine which exudes rich aromas of crushed wild berries, plum jam and subtle sweet spices from the oak aging process. The Cabernet Sauvignon makes its presence felt with hints of blackcurrants, a full body, and firm structure, while the Merlot brings softness and the Gamay adds refreshing acidity which provides poise and elegance.
With a lifetimes love of great wine, particularly the wines of the Rhône Valley, as well as a passion for the terroir of his native Istria, Mladen Rožanić searched for a long time to find the right terrain on which to plant his vines according to the extensive knowledge he had acquired as he traveled and learned from great winegrowers around the world. Subsequently, 26 hectares of vineyards were planted over a four-year period in west Istria near Višnjan, an ideal region for Mladens purposes, thanks to its superb climactic and geological conditions. Roxanich produces natural wines from both indigenous and internationally recognized grape varieties all in line with the highest ecological standards, cultivating the grapes using traditional methods with crop control and minimum intervention. In the winery, mechanical and chemical intervention is excluded. Inspired by his travels to wine regions all over the world, Mladen Rožanić decided to create this Bordeaux-style red blend to prove the exceptional winemaking potential of his native Istria. Much like Italys Super Tuscans, he chose the name SuperIstrian to indicate that this is something a little different to Croatias traditional red wines since it is crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Gamay grapes using natural winemaking practices.
