Zacapa Centenario 23 is distilled from fermented sugar cane syrup. It is a premium blend of rums aged from 6 to 23 years in used whisky and bourbon barrels. The aromas of brown sugar, pineapple, and banana lead to a rich medium body full of dried fruit yielding to a sweet light smoky oak and molasses finish. Although this is the flagship of the Zacapa line of classic rums, don't overlook the other rums from the Central American distiller.
