Riesling Rangen de Thann Clos Saint Urbain Grand Cru trocken 2016 BIO
Rangen de Thann Clos Saint Urbain Grand Cru, a name like Donnerhall. This is what Zind Humbrecht stands for! 13.0% alcohol, 3.6 acid with only 2.0 grams of residual sugar. Volcanic soils in southern exposure. A very sublime, citrus-expressive nose, very straight, very fine, very rocky for Alsatian conditions, almost floating, light-looking. Also hints of mango, passion fruit, dried apricots, super ripe peach, ripe orange. Quite slightly exotic, but not sultry, rather gathered and delicious for jumping in. Smaragd Dürnsteiner Kellerberg from the Wachau, but cleaner, less baroque, and more translucent minerality. Ultra-fine on the palate, almost delicate-looking, aromatic rather citrusy, quince, limes, completely without weight, enormously polished but with a racy acid trace. Long length and intense chalky reverberation.
