Remy Jobard Meursault 1er Cru Le Poruzot Dessus 2017
The 1er Cru Le Poruzots Dessus marks the lower area of the Poruzots location. One of the top terroirs from Meursault and the lower part of Poruzot's Dessus is recognized to be even better. It is a power location that stands for high concentration, a lot of power and impressive wines. It's not a finesse location like Chevalieres, there is a lot of pressure here. But this wine also has the subtlety and grandeur so typical of Jobard's style. The wines remain on the lees in medium-sized Stockinger casks for almost 2 years, not in barriques. Jobard's Chardonnay expressions are initially quiet and elegant, white-fruity Meursaults, which increase in weight with maturity and expose aromatic layers. Currently there is a combination of tart green pear, elegant white flowers powdered in yeast and chalk, a delicate nuttiness underneath, but everything is very fine and worn, nothing is lush or loud. On the palate with a dense, gathered appearance in white, floral and salty framed fruit. Develops creamy and velvety, with a lot of pressure, concentration and power on the tongue. White, tense fruit with delicate citrus sprinkles, white almond, conch shell. Highly concentrated and highly intensive like a bundle of energy waiting for release! But always sticking to the fine, polished style and, despite the velvety, creamy feel, never drifting into complete opulence. Jobard really does have archetypal, terroir-like Meursault 1ers Crus.
