Maçanita Touriga Nacional 2016
The sub-region Cima Corgo differs significantly from the other two sub-regions Baixo Corgo and Douro Superior due to the cooler continental climate. The grapes for this wine come from this cool region. The result is a more floral and fresher Touriga Nacional than in the other two sub-regions. Only 1666 bottles of this wine were filled. In the glass a rich, full ruby red with deep, dark violet nuances. The nose has an incredible amount of pressure, an extremely intense aroma. Floral notes and ripe black fruit. Very fresh on the palate with a strong fruit aroma. Dense red cherry fruit and blueberries with acidity and sweetness, dark chocolate, salt, a little lemon peel. An incredibly exciting game between acid-laden and fruit-aromatic intensity. Incredibly harmonious because nothing is fat, but everything is very elegant and delicate. And then the reverberation, so fine, round and persistent. A big movie theater!
