Le Bateau Vieille Vigne Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Champagne Grand Cru 'Cramant'
Adrien Dhondt's Le Bateau cuvée is a harmonious, elegant Blanc de Blanc champagne, expressing all the personality of the Cramant terroir.
This cuvée is made exclusively from Chardonnays from the Grand Cru terroir of Cramant, on the Côte des Blancs, and more precisely from the place known as Le bateau on which we find the oldest vine in the area, a vine planted in 1951! Facing south, it is a plot on which we see the chalk outcrop. This vineyard is worked in the organic way, with plowed soils and herbal treatments.
The grapes are harvested at optimal maturity, when pressing, only the first press (the cuvée) is used. The musts are vinified in barrels and then aged 8 months on fine lees in barrels, a quarter of which are new.
The Le Bateau Dhondt-Grellet cuvée is dosed in Extra Brut (1.6g / l) in order to maintain great freshness and good expressiveness.
It is a cuvée produced in a very confidential manner. Only 1100 bottles were produced.
