Il Pino di Biserno 2017
The 'Pino di Biserno' by Tenuta di Biserno, Tuscany winery discovered by Lodovico Antinori, is a red wine with elegant character and finesse. An assembly of several red berry vines that are aged mostly in new and second-hand barriques. Wood well-dosed that does not invade the smell, whispering spicy and herbaceous sensations, and which concentrates a sufficient liquid, the Mediterranean with mature and well-integrated tannins
Il Pino di Biserno is an elegant and refined wine that speaks of its territory. It comes in a bright, ruby red glass. The nose gives off complex hints of berry fruit, with spicy notes and a slight woody. On the palate, it is concentrated, fruity, with ripe tannins. Destined to age well for about eight to twelve years, it shows an extraordinary drinkability even in youth. On the table, it goes well with roasted meats, especially beef, whether it is fillet, sirloin, or Florentine steak.
Il Pino di Biserno reflects the unique terroir of Bibbona, a blend of grapes that genuinely reflects a classic Alta Maremma wine, clearly a younger sibling of the eponymous Biserno. This, through a rigorous selection of young vine grapes, is a fine ambassador for this estate, vintage after vintage, offering a harmonious, seductive style, Accessible and early-drinking, Il Pino reveals the potential character, finesse, and elegance, of the property. The blend of Il Pino di Biserno consists of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and in some vintages Cabernet Sauvignon.
Brothers Piero and Lodovico Antinori are the owners of the beautiful Tenuta di Biserna from Toscane. According to Parker, "Tenuta di Biserno remains one of the best-kept secrets in Bolgheri." The Pino di Bisernos is a representation of the unique wine area that Tenuta di Biserna owns. The special blend of the grapes provides a classic Bolgheri. Il Pino shows beautifully what the character of Tenuta di Biserna is. In the nose, you will find a mixture of black fruit, spices, and hints of dark chocolate. This translates in the mouth into a nicely complex wine with a long finish. The wine is elegant with slightly softer, ripe tannins—a delicious wine from Tenuta di Biserna.
