Early twentieth century in the French Alsace: Golden pot stills were found during excavations. It was suspected that the original owner wanted to protect them from looters during the Franco-German revolution and therefore buried them. Unfortunately these Pot Stills had no value and were sold to a distillation fan. He then created this special gin. Hence the name and its appearance.
