Dom Faiveley Gevrey Chambertin Cazetiers 1er Cru 2017
More raspberry, red cherry and red fruited than the Nuits St. Georges, with a classic Les Cazetiers wild berry, bramble note. A sense, on bouquet, of pure, opulent fruit. Rich and full on palate. Plenty of ripe berry fruit, however a little darker in character than suggested by the nose. Spherical tannins and good acidity. Complex, some old vine material here. A little sauvage or feral element on the finish. Les Cazetiers is a top 1er at Faiveley most years and the 2017 looked to be no exception.
