Frank John Kalkstein Pinot Noir 2016

What a wonderfully delicate Pinot Noir. The grape material comes from Palatinate sites with a high lime content, just like in Burgundy. Aging in 225l and 500l barrels for up to two years. As a result, the wood is in the background, the fruit is clearly in the foreground. With raspberry fruit he manages to remain fully identifiable as German Pinot Noir, even his origin, the Palatinate, always remains clear, but everything with Burgundian standards and affinity. In addition to raspberry, subtle rosehip, Amarena cherry, a little sloe, a fine spiciness and supporting, vibrating acidity. An elegant, finely chased Pinot Noir. Medium-bodied, almost floating on the palate and characterized by a soft tannin structure. This is a fine spicy, tender Pinot Noir. A lot of raspberry, white pepper and a generally crunchy fruit. Filled unfiltered. In addition to Holger Koch's Pinots, this is one of the most tender and seductive Pinot Noirs in Germany.
