Dr. Bürklin-Wolf Pechstein G.C 2017
Here in the Pechstein we are now on volcanic soils, on basalt. Here we go to the Force. The Pechstein's nose is super structured. Great minerality, hard stone, flint. Stony dominates completely. A little spontaneous nose. Quite straight, very puristic. But no exotic, only wine made from grapes with a little baked apple, lemongrass, Ceylon tea and walnut. I am amazed how almost tender the wine is. It shows a very mature, immense acidity and pressure. But this pressure is subtle. The presence is just there. The wine is so intense, precise, present. But ultra-fine despite its pressure. The stony, the flint, nothing cracks, everything is finely woven. This is pretty chic material from one of the most powerful layers. Stone embedded in silk. Sublime and great. Due to the new plantings in Pechstein, there will unfortunately be very small quantities in retail for a few years.
