Diel Caroline Pinot Noir 2016
The 2016 Pinot Noir Caroline offers a deep, dark and spicy Pinot bouquet of remarkable elegance and finesse. Dark berry and cherry aromas intermingle with beautifully bright and refreshing notes of red berries and lots of spicy aromas, even salted licorice. There is a delicious oxidative touch here, which adds even more complexity and generosity, as well as marzipan. Full-bodied and concentrated on the palate, this is a firmly structured, masculine but also delicate and silky-textured Pinot with darker-toned fruit flavors and firm but fine tannins that give great balance. The finish is very long and sustainable. This 2016 is one of the finest, most characterful and distinctive Pinot Noirs of Germany. A fabulous, still undiscovered wine. Tasted at the domain in July 2019.
