Chateauneuf du Pape 2005
Dark red with black highlights. Powerful, intense fruit nose. Enormous presence in the mouth with a rich tannin structure, very ripe but without residual sweetness, showing good freshness, long reverberation. The high alcohol of over 15 degrees is barely noticeable due to the perfect acidity. The 2005 combines the finesse and structure of the 2004 with explosive fruit without being too fat. The wine is large and at the same level as the 2004, only more intense in the fruit, but less straightforward, a little more expansive, for me better than 2003.
