Château Lynch-Bages Pauillac 2015
70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot. 75% expansion in new wood. A very spicy, concentrated, central nose, lots of currant and cassis, light but light blackberry underneath, also raspberry, showing a lot of spice and racy tannin overall. The mouth is also quite focused on red fruit and very strongly on currant, but not very sweet, black cassis, more red currant, also sour cherry, slim, nice, but overall the wine is too slim, has silky tannins, is a typical lynch Bages in its masculinity, but a very slim and delicate edition. Is it perhaps a little too little for this year? Too much competition and maybe too expensive for that? GPL blows it away and is probably cheaper ... We will see, fine anyway.
