Château Hosanna Pomerol 2016
Owned by Christian Moueix. Only 4 hectares, a tiny one. Gravel and red clay with a high iron content. 85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc. The next big thing after Certan de May. But here we are even more with powerfully intense, deep red fruit. Very ripe, almost concentrated young plums with morello cherries and sour cherries. Sweet cherry, then black cherry. Everything highly concentrated. But nothing brittle. Only dense, intense and long. Then he almost pops in the mouth. The same fruit concentration comes across as intensely. We mostly stay on the cherry here. Then very concentrated raspberry. Cassis, plums, sloe and an infinite trace of salt follow. It crashes right. But here, as in all Moueix wines, no brittleness, no hardness in the tannins. Only extreme intensity in total grinding. A wine that takes time but will last forever. A great Pomerol, and like the best Pomerols this year, at Moueix even a little bit of total polish stands out from the mail. In terms of its spiciness and intensity, it simply belongs to the best Pomerols. It is not quite the format of the Chateau Clinet, but is not far behind, all in a similar characteristic.
