Château Coutet Cuvée Demoiselle Saint-Émilion 2017
50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Franc. Everything was processed by hand here. With 3 horses and 10 people, the grapes in the vines were harvested and 70 people took the berries from the grapes and sorted them out - there is only such a thing at Château Coutet. This is a more rustic nose of a different kind. There is a vibrating tension in this fragrance - an incredible amount of spice. Aromas of cherry and red fruit, delicately smoky, mineral notes behind, which are an expression of this extraordinary vineyard. The palate has an explosive, juicy freshness, so incredibly energetic and intense. Perfectly ripe fruit paired with an equally ingenious acid structure. The tannins are ultra-fine and barely noticeable - yes you have the feeling that you could drink the wine immediately. That is the pure, unadulterated taste of a real Bordeaux wine, as you hardly find it today. That is nature in its most beautiful perfection. We can then try the 2015 wine and here the full potential of this extraordinary wine is shown again.
