Chambertin Grand Cru 2017 BIO

Trapet has been an organic pioneer since 1996, and has also been fully biodynamically certified since 2009. His Chambertin Grand Cru is fermented in an open wooden curve and then transferred to the Malo and for expansion in mostly new barriques. All grands and premiers crus received around 30% rappen in 2017. In contrast to the more vertical Latricieres Chambertin, which is drawn by cool winds, Le Chambertin is increasingly on the more mature, concentrated side. Chambertin is simply a wonderfully warm location, which is one of the very best in Burgundy and almost always guarantees full maturity. This is exactly what you can feel in your nose. This engaging opulence, this richness that Richebourg has. More dark fruit, blackberry, plum, sweet spice notes, some dark chocolate, blueberry. This red berry, so typical of Gevrey, is somewhat reduced here due to the format of the fruit, the cherry is a little darker, also a little sweeter, the sour cherry remains in the underground. The wine has a mouth-lining concentration and intense, engaging, voluminous density on the palate with silky tannins that appear large-framed and close-knit. Sloe, forest berries, sweet, juicy cherry, a little cocoa and pencil rubbing, elderberry, always unfolding new layers. Voluminous but silky tannins shine in the berry-spicy aftertaste, which is accompanied by a wonderfully animating trace of acid and salt. Light chalk along with dark graphite mineral form the base for this all-taking miracle from the cool cellars of Jean Louis Trapet. A single Chambertin with its velvety, focused, straightforward, yet highly charming fruit. This substantial, almost massive depth is quite impressive for the rather delicate 2017 vintage.
