Chacra Cincuenta y Cinco Pinot Noir 2018
From a biodynamically managed vineyard. The vines were planted in 1955. Wholecluster fermentation at low temperatures to delicately work out the fruit. Unfiltered filling that spent 14 months in French oak. The nose is reminiscent of iodine, wild strawberries and green pepper. Everything stays crisp and mild. On the palate you have a wonderful tension in this Pinot Noir. This is not reminiscent of Burgundy, nor of Pinot Noir. Maybe cool Oregon? In any case, it must be extremely cool or high climatically, because that is a 12.5% vol. Finesse Pinot. Straightforward and clear. The way Pinot should be. Very nicely done!
