Ziereisen Rhini 2013
The terroir of the Pinot Noir Rhini differs significantly from all other substrates at Hanspeter Ziereisen - here there is not only pure limestone as usual, but also limestone with loam-loess layer and also extremely permeated with iron. The clones are half Burgundy clones and half Baden clones, planted from 1988 to 2000. The wine shows an extremely spicy nose reminiscent of Vosne Romanée in Burgundy, a lot of pressure, black and red cherry with Amarena cherry and rosemary, with raw and flamed meat . The wine's high iron content extends into the mouth. High tannin and fine bitter substances. Certainly Ziereisen's Pinot Noir with the greatest power. Rosehip in the mouth, some iodine, the wine is extremely full-bodied and almost massive. This wine is stylistically a Vosne Romanée Premier Cru, with a small touch size of a Grand Cru, just a little one-dimensional. An overwhelming steam hammer.
