Château Beausejour Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2013
88% Merlot 12% Cabernet Franc. With the densest nose of the wines from Derenoncourt and Thienpont. Nice dense red fruit. Cherry, also forest raspberry. Concentrated fresh plums. In addition, some red currant, orange peel in the mouth and again the concentrated fresh plum with red cherry and morello cherries. Nice touch of sour cherry. Very fine, polished tannin. Somewhat spicy, showing slight sharpness. There is a little lack of sweet meat in the middle to be really big, but clearly one of the best Saint Emilions. On the same level as Angelus, maybe even a little bit superior. Only Tertre Rotebouef and a few organic minions beat him in 2013.
