Saint-Joseph Lieu-Dit 2016
The label design comes from the Swiss artist Roger Pfund, a specialist in the design of banknotes. The Saint Joseph Lieu-dit Saint Joseph comes from the original plots of the appellation that gave the place its name. It comes from steep slopes on gneiss with traces of granite. 40 hl / ha were harvested. The vines are between 25 and 75 years old. The expansion takes place in 50% new barriques and 50% secondary occupancy. The nose is dense and black-fruity with fine wood spice, all highly intensive. Powerful, pushing on the palate and equipped with a beautiful acid trace, which gives the lush, dark fruit of black cherry and blackberry a fine boost, as well as cinnamon and rosemary in its rich spiciness. Currently still youthful, powerful, concentrated with velvety tannins, it will become increasingly fine and elegant with further bottle maturation. A Syrah in the classic Guigal style.
