Chateau Palmer Margaux 2014

It lives up to its potential as a great Margaux with subtle touches of blackberry, boysenberry & a hint of pencil box. The palate is mid-bodied with quite fine tannin and a graceful feel in the mouth. It creates a feeling of energy that pushes the flavorful core of plum, rasberry & cherry coulis. The finishing of jubilant floral & iron notes bring out the minerals for an exquisite ending.

Charles Palmer, the founder of Château Palmer, originally promoted his wine to British elites, and it is still popular among the British, almost 200 years later. The Pereire brothers bought it in 1853 and built the château as it still exists today. It was seen by many as among the best until going up against Château Margaux in the late 1970's. Palmer is now owned by French, English & Dutch families and the grapes in every plot & variety are vinified separately to enhance every characteristic.

The wine is aged for 20 months, after which it reigns supreme for another year as among the best in Bordeaux. The rich aroma and strong tannins common among Palmer wines result in a memorable nectar that reflect the blending of a variety of grapes divided in equal parts Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon, giving the wine a graceful, fully bodied & velvety personality.

The flavors range from florid & spices, to blackcurrants to liquorice, and cherries.
